Emma J. Allocco, LPC-MHSP, NCC
Emma’s Experience
As a Licensed Professional Counselor, Mental Health Service Provider (LPC-MHSP) in Tennessee, I am dedicated to creating a safe, supportive, and healing environment for individuals seeking transformative healing.
With both undergraduate and graduate degrees from Carson-Newman University, and as a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), I bring 6 years of experience in the
mental health field to my practice. My clinical experience includes providing therapy to individuals recovering from trauma, substance use disorders, and a range of mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, mood disorders, low self-esteem, ADHD, and behavioral concerns.
During my counseling internship at the Family Justice Center, I worked with victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, and have since continued to help clients move through the deep impact of trauma, empowering them to reclaim their lives. Having personally experienced the life-changing benefits of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), I am passionate about offering this approach to clients. EMDR allowed me to feel safe in my own mind and body, freeing me from survival mode, painful past memories, and conditioned responses. As I pursue full EMDR certification after receiving training from the EMDR Institute, my goal is to provide others with the opportunity to heal holistically and effectively.
My Approach & Values
I utilize evidence-based practices such as EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and mindfulness, customizing each approach to meet the unique needs of every client. My practice is a space of inclusivity and support, and I am proud to be an ally of the LGBTQIA+ community.
