Carli Schiefen, MSSW Student Intern

Emma Allocco - Creekside Counseling & Wellness

I’m a Master of Social Work student intern under the supervision of Bonnie Barclay, LCSW, pursuing a graduate degree and trauma certificate from the University of Tennessee. I earned my bachelor’s degree from the University of North Florida and completed my yoga teacher certification in Rishikesh, India, an experience that shapes the mindfulness and cultural humility I bring into my work.

My experience includes supporting individuals navigating anxiety, depression, grief, loss, estrangement, and complex relational dynamics. This work has taken place in perinatal mental health settings, as well as with children and families facing the challenges of serious illnesses. These experiences have shaped my understanding of how people cope with stress, uncertainty, and emotional pain, and I approach each client with curiosity and respect for their unique story.

My Approach and Values

I’m passionate about developing therapeutic relationships rooted in safety and non-judgment, using evidence-based approaches tailored to each client. My approach is collaborative and flexible, moving at a pace that feels right for you while working toward meaningful and sustainable change. I value creating a space that feels welcoming, respectful, and grounded in genuine care. I strive to create an inclusive, affirming environment for all, including the LGBTQIA+ community, neurodivergent individuals, and diverse populations.

Originally from Florida, I now call Tennessee home and value the opportunity to support individuals from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences. I believe healing happens within safe, authentic connection and feel honored to walk alongside clients as they build insight, resilience, and greater self-understanding.
