At Creekside Counseling & Wellness, we know that healing doesn’t just happen in the therapy room; it continues in the quiet moments of daily life. That’s why we’ve partnered with Dharma Dr., a trusted provider of slow bilateral stimulation (BLS) tools designed to gently support nervous system regulation, mind-body connection, and the integration of insights from therapy and wellness groups.

What Is Slow Bilateral Stimulation?

Unlike the faster-paced BLS used during reprocessing in EMDR therapy, slow bilateral stimulation involves gentle, rhythmic alternation from left to right—creating a calming effect that helps regulate emotional states, deepen self-awareness, and promote grounded presence. This slower pacing is also used in EMDR sessions for resourcing, helping clients access inner strengths, build regulation, and prepare the nervous system for deeper healing work.

We have found this kind of bilateral input can also be especially useful between therapy or group sessions—supporting clients as they reflect, rest, and stay connected to the work they’re doing. It’s not for reprocessing trauma, but rather for resourcing the nervous system and encouraging integration.

Why We Recommend It

Slow BLS can be a valuable addition to your personal wellness toolkit. Clients often use it:

During moments of stress or overwhelm to calm the body

To settle into mindfulness or journaling practices

As a way to reinforce emotional safety and stability

When enhancing positive resources, insights, and emotional shifts after therapy or group work

Our partnership with Dharma Dr. allows us to offer their high-quality bilateral tabs for purchase at our office. Creekside also developed a support card to guide safe and intentional use at home. This ensures that the experience remains grounding and supportive—never overwhelming.

How to Access the Tools

Bilateral tabs are available for purchase in-house or online through our affiliate link. When you purchase through Creekside, you’ll also receive guidance from your clinician or group facilitator to help you use them in a way that fits your unique goals and needs.

Note: These tools are intended for resourcing and regulation only, not for EMDR reprocessing outside of a therapy session.
